Important Alert: Beware of Immigration Scams!
It has come to our attention that some individuals have received emails from people falsely claiming to be from the Department of Homeland Security, instructing them to visit our office for fingerprinting in order to continue with their asylum application and asking for money before visiting our office.
Please be advised that these emails are scams.
To protect yourselves and your loved ones, please remember the following key points:
Official Communication:
Immigration services typically do not use email for official communication. If you receive an email claiming to be from immigration authorities, verify that the sender's email address ends with "@uscis.dhs.gov".Official Documentation:
Authentic communications from immigration services are always in English and include important details such as a receipt number, type of form received, and A# (Alien Registration Number). These communications are in the form of a letter mailed to your physical address.Legal Representation:
Exercise caution when seeking legal assistance. Do not trust individuals who claim to be attorneys or "notarios" without a physical office or whom you have never met in person.Contracts and Documentation:
Before paying any money for legal services, ensure you have a signed contract that clearly outlines the scope of representation and includes the name of the attorney or accredited representative.
